Pray and Connect

MET values its heritage as a prayer movement for revival in the nation and renewal in the Methodist Church. This section includes Praying Always which is MET's daily prayer guide.

Prayer Cover for the Methodist Conference

At the Executive meeting in May, we felt God encouraged us to call MET partners to prayer during the Methodist Conference meeting in Nottingham from 28 to 5 July. Three area for prayer emerged:

  • Renewal of the Methodist Church
  • Revival in our land
  • Guidance for The Methodist Conference
As Marian Izzard discussed this with the Revd Loraine Mellor, President of the Conference (2017) we discovered that the Nottingham and Derby District Youth have called a Day of Prayer on 30 June entitled What happens when young people pray?  Please encourage your young people to participate in this initiative on 30 June or at other times during the course of Conference. More details can be found on their website

As a prayer movement, we invite you and your churches to participate in providing cover during the hours of Conference Business (Thursday 2.15- 6.30pm; Friday 9.15 am - 6.30pm; Saturday 2.15 - 6.45 pm; Sunday 10.15 -12.45; and, Ordination Service, Monday to Thursday: 9.15am -6.45pm). Some may be able to provide 24-hour prayer cover. Please contact Kevin Jones (kevtherev34@hotmail.com) with your plans and experiences as you prayed. The Methodist Conference reports and timetable are available on the Methodist Church website.

Please consider this prayer request as we pray for God's blessing, mercy and guidance upon the Methodist Church.
