Appointment of new Development Worker

Derek and Hilary Balsdon

Revd Derek Balsdon

We are delighted to announce the appointment of the Revd Derek Balsdon as the new Development Worker of Methodist Evangelicals Together.  Derek will serve in a part-time capacity with MET for a year whilst continuing to serve his current circuit and will become full-time Development Worker from September 2019.

Currently stationed in the Dane and Trent Circuit, Derek has served as a Methodist Minister for 25 years.  His ministry has been marked throughout by a strong commitment to the authority of the Bible and to promoting spiritual renewal, and he has been a longstanding member of MET and its predecessor organisations.  He is married to Hilary, a Methodist Local Preacher, and they have three adult sons, Daniel who is about to enter circuit as a probationer minister, Jonathan who lives at home and works locally, and Peter who has just ended a year working with UCCF as a Relay Worker and will soon begin similar work abroad.

We very much look forward to welcoming Derek to his new role with MET and will circulate information about his welcome service as the details are finalised.
